Andersen, Harrison and Budd (2017) presented their findings for their pilot study seeking to investigate best practices when working with children SPs and the learning experiences of nursing students at the 7th International Clinical Skills Conference 2017. The research involved group interviews of both SPs (parents and children) and nursing students. Additionally, nursing students were asked to answer a survey which was modified from Levett-Jones et al’s (2011) Simulation Satisfaction Scale survey. The researchers found that monitoring as well as adapting scenarios are required to mitigate risk and stress of the young actors, making the process of post scenario reflection important. The students involved also reported high levels of satisfaction with the learning experience.
